Vestager suffers setback (but not disaster) in Belgian tax verdict


Partner Jacques Derenne comments on the European Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager’s unexpected reversal on Thursday, February 14 when the EU’s General Court annulled her ruling that Belgium had offered sweetheart tax deals to multinationals.  “This was not a surprise, but it was an important argument made by all the parties [in the other similar cases],” Derenne, said.
