Sheppard Mullin Adds Leading Tax Partner In Orange County

Frank Dworak Adds Depth and Breadth to Firm’s Tax Practice

Sheppard Mullin is pleased to announce that partner Frank W. Dworak has joined the firm’s Tax, Employee Benefits, and Trusts and Estates practice group in Orange County. Dworak was most recently a partner at K&L Gates LLP. Since January 2018, Sheppard Mullin has added 21 lateral partners as well as opening a new office in Dallas. 

“Our Transactional practice is growing and thriving and Frank’s extensive transactional tax experience will further deepen our bench strength ,” said Jon Newby, Sheppard Mullin’s vice chairman. “His tax controversy background and tenure at the IRS is especially relevant and will be of great benefit to our clients.”

Dworak has significant experience on a wide range of transactional tax matters, including partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, insolvency, compensation, international tax planning (both inbound and outbound) and complex controversy matters before the Internal Revenue Service and the Tax Court. Prior to K&L Gates, Dworak served as a senior attorney with the Large Business & International Division of the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. He received his B.S. from Northwestern University, his J.D. from Northwestern University, and his LLM from New York University.

Sheppard Mullin has 80 attorneys based in its Orange County office. The firm's Tax practice includes 30 attorneys, and the Corporate practice includes more than 170 attorneys.
