Sheppard Mullin Expands Corporate Practice In Los Angeles

Daniel Peters Brings Significant Private Equity and M&A Experience to Group

Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is pleased to announce that Daniel H. Peters has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a partner in the Corporate practice group.  Peters was most recently a partner at Winston & Strawn.

“Our corporate group had a very active 2020 and 2021 looks like it will be even busier,” said Sheppard Mullin vice chairman Jon Newby. “We’re helping clients across the country with complex transactional work, and Dan’s skillset is an ideal fit for us.”

Commenting on the addition of Peters, Linda Michaelson, Corporate practice group leader, said, “The current climate for private equity investments and deals is hot and Dan will be a terrific – and much welcomed – addition.  We’ve been focusing on expanding our already considerable private equity capabilities and Dan’s broad and deep experience is a terrific complement to our existing team.”

Peters handles domestic and cross-border transactions in a variety of industries, focusing on M&A, joint ventures, strategic alliances and investments. He regularly represents clients in the purchase and sale of companies and business assets, and has substantial experience advising both strategic investors and issuers in venture capital and similar investment transactions. He also counsels such companies in various legal aspects of their business operations and activities, including corporate governance and compliance matters. He advises emerging companies in various stages of growth, providing legal and strategic guidance in all phases from formation through exit.  He received his B.B.A. from Loyola Marymount University and his J.D. from the University of California Berkeley.
