Corporate Healthcare Associate (3-6 Years of Experience)

The Century City office of Sheppard Mullin is looking to add a mid-level associate attorney to our nationally recognized healthcare team comprised of more than 160 attorneys across the US.  The ideal candidate has 3-6 years of experience in healthcare mergers & acquisitions and/or private equity.  An interest in focusing on transactions in the healthcare sector is a must.  As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to advise some of the most dynamic and innovative healthcare clients in the country in all phases of their transactional businesses primarily focusing on strategic transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, asset and equity acquisition transactions, venture capital and private equity investments and joint venture transactions.  You’ll also assist clients with their corporate and organizational workflow including assisting with formations, capital raises, operational strategy, contract negotiations and other day-to-day corporate matters. 

As a core member of our healthcare group working with the national head of our healthcare group you will be expected to work together with our team of attorneys to provide clients with critical guidance on how to achieve their goals.  You will join a strong team of partners guiding and overseeing your work and mentoring you in every phase of your practice.  Consistently excellent work product will be expected by supervising attorneys and clients alike.  You will have a group of highly skilled and experienced attorneys supporting your professional development.  Regular career progression and training sessions are key components of our practice.  You will learn the ins and outs of healthcare-specific transactions.  Our partners in the healthcare group will provide you with substantive training and guidance regarding the critical laws and regulations that apply in healthcare corporate transactions.  We will provide you with transactional experience and industry knowledge that can form the basis of your own practice and we will encourage and support your efforts to develop direct client relationships in furtherance of your broader career goals.

We expect our attorneys to have the highest academic qualifications as well as excellent oral communication, writing, research and analytical skills.  We work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment so you will have to take ownership of your projects, work effectively as a member of a team and communicate directly with clients and third party advisors regularly.  If you are already admitted in California that is a plus, but we are open to providing you the opportunity to join our team and to become qualified in California if you have the qualities to succeed with us. We also will entertain candidates for the above positions to be located in our New York, Washington DC, San Francisco, Orange County and San Diego offices.
