Sheppard Mullin represented Orthopedic Care Partners Holdings, LLC (OCP), the leading partner for high-performing, quality and patient-focused orthopedic surgery practices, in its strategic practice affiliation with The Steadman Clinic, a premier, internationally known, orthopedic and sports medicine practice headquartered in Vail, Colorado. The transaction creates one of the largest orthopedic practice platforms in the United States. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
OCP is backed by Varsity Healthcare Partners (VHP), a Los Angeles-based lower middle-market healthcare services private equity firm. In 2017, Sheppard Mullin represented VHP in its creation of the OCP platform via its strategic affiliation with The Orthopaedic Institute, a premier orthopedic practice based in Gainesville, Florida.
The Sheppard Mullin team, led by its National Healthcare Team leader Eric Klein, included partners, Jeralin Cardoso, John Golembesky and Bill Wyatt, and associates Kathleen O’Neill, Kirstin Smith and Rob White.
