Sheppard Mullin Represents Blue Shield Venture Altais In Affiliation With Brown & Toland Physicians

Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP represented Blue Shield of California’s new healthcare services and physician practice platform Altais, an innovative healthcare services provider pioneering next-generation clinical tools and technology, in its affiliation with Brown & Toland Physicians. Brown & Toland Physicians, a venerated San Francisco independent practice association with a network of more than 2,700 primary care and specialist providers, provides front-line care to more than 350,000 patients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and also operates a Medicare Advantage restricted Knox-Keene health care service plan. Together, Altais and Brown & Toland will serve as the leading platform for independent physicians in the Bay Area, providing best-in-class support levels and new technology-enhanced services to allow network physicians to focus their efforts on delivering high-quality, affordable care, and relieve the burdens associated with practice management. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
